Making Colour Studios is a Canadian creative studio based in Burlington, Ontario. We’re a house — and a platform — that invites independent artists to collaborate on original illustrated pieces and to lead bilingual art workshops: a chance to connect with culture, with others, and with yourself.
The way it works: Making Colour produces and presents the work, and each artist keeps their own voice and name. Our first featured artist is illustrator Alana Lumi, whose practice explores the visual traditions of the Americas and contemporary illustration — bold ink line, pattern, and a Latin American sensibility open to influences from around the world. She designs our current collection and facilitates our ART & Español workshops as guest artist. Over time, we’ll welcome other artists, each bringing their own world, to show their work and lead workshops under the same roof.
We believe art should feel open, not intimidating — guided in two languages, with room for all experience levels.

Somos una casa — y una plataforma — que invita a artistas independientes a colaborar en productos ilustrados originales y a dictar talleres de arte bilingües: una oportunidad de conectar con la cultura, con otros y con uno mismo.
Cómo funciona: Making Colour produce y presenta la obra, y cada artista conserva su propia voz y su nombre. Nuestra primera artista es la ilustradora Alana Lumi, cuya práctica explora las tradiciones visuales del continente americano y la ilustración contemporánea — línea de tinta bold, patrón y una sensibilidad latinoamericana abierta a influencias de todo el mundo. Ella diseña nuestra colección actual y facilita nuestros talleres ART & Español como artista invitada. Con el tiempo, sumaremos a otros artistas, cada uno con su propio mundo, para mostrar su obra y dictar talleres bajo el mismo techo.
Creemos que el arte debe sentirse abierto, no intimidante — guiado en dos idiomas, con espacio para personas con distintos niveles de experiencia.
